Wagtail Farm is very close to Cragside House and Country
Park. Cragside House was once described as The palace
of a modern magician. Its interior featured state-of-the-art
hydraulics powering both a revolutionary new lift system and
the internal telephones which so mesmerised guests. Cragside
was the first house in the world to be lit by hydro-electric
power, using man-made lakes and underground piping. «

We are also on the very edge of Simonside Hills allowing
our guests to have breathtaking views of the dramatic sandstone
formation. The range dominates the skyline forming a dramatic
southern backdrop to the middle reaches of the River Coquet.
Walkers who climb the hills are rewarded with the whole panorama
of the Cheviots to the north and from the top of Simonside
itself the whole Northumbrian coastline is revealed.
Other attractions nearby include Alnwick Castle, Bamburgh
Castle, Chillingham Castle and Dunstanburgh Castle. |
